Yedda welcomes the GARs!
Google announced yesterday that they’re shutting down the 4 years old Google Answers service.
Google Answers was a noble experiment at providing paid answers to questions. The questions were answered by a relatively small (several hundreds) group of GARs – Google Answer Researchers. These folks provided often amazing, useful and well researched answers.
We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome the GARs who already joined Yedda, and to invite those who didn’t yet to share their knowledge with the Yedda community!

So according to the googleblog – GA was kinda an experiment which didn’t pass the googlelabs step door to the outside world?

Can’t really tell at this point. Keep in mind though, #9.

thanks for this ref – great source.
Well, Techcrunch dubbed it as “killed”, but the morphing possibility is much more interesting for sure.
I would be happy if the GA team would great a “wall of GA practices” with selected answers that can provide a good tutorial on how to research. Something that I personally use to do in the past. This could really be a great global contribution, and also another way to give credit to the GARs.

Uri L., perhaps you should join the exGARs Yahoo group and suggest that to them.
Perhaps some of them will raise the glove and write it down in a WIKI for all of us to benefit.

Good news for Yedda. BUT, it also might be worthwhile also trying to get Yedda into the Enterprise, as eLance has done with their outsourcing system. More about Web 2.0 in enterprise:
